In late 2013, NEXT was awarded an Optifit from Conoco Phillips. The complete package was delivered to the Stettler Branch from Northern Alberta, where the 6HS04 compressor had a complete shop overhaul, including the replacement of the failed original crankshaft.
We replaced the 15” cylinder with an 11.5” cylinder, refurbished all three of the 7” cylinders, and added sleeve and liners to reduce inside diameter to 6”. New pulsation bottles were fabricated and installed on the suction and discharge. Numerous piping/spool changes were required, as well as a new scrubber for the fuel gas system.
The Waukesha 7042GL was originally scheduled to be swung out with an exchange engine, and the scope was changed to a complete overhaul. This included, a new ignition system, as well as several other modifications at Conoco’s request. This reconfiguration was a very large project, and with our Proprietary Optifit Process, the project was completed on time and delivered with 100% success.
